North Puget Sound Event of the Year 2023 - Washington Festivals & Events Association
Felix, originally from Walla Walla, WA, had quickly become a specialty act sensation. A third generation dancing horse trainer, Felix has easily become a crowd favorite.
My name Felix Santana and I am 3rd generation horseman coming from a ranching family in Jalisco Mexico. I always loved the connection between the horse and human but was away from the horses. After moving to the US at a very young age. It was until I was in my late teens when I decided to get back into it and started taking lessons from my uncles Miguel Andrade and Fermin Andrade in Perris California on the “High school” style of training (Alta escuela) which got my career started, there after I started getting direct mentorship from Francisco Zamora who was also a PRCA act in his earlier years, as well as Oscar Borjas in Spain still to this day which I feel has taken my horsemanship and skill to the next level. The specialty act that I showcase is based on Spanish style riding and natural horse foot work that is used for bull fighting and doma vaquera, along with showcasing my horse’s talent and athletic ability that also includes tricks. My Andalusian stallion “Romano” and I have been together for 5 years now, and he loves to perform along side with me, showing his trust in me being that he was untrainable and neglected in his early years. Together we have been performing all over the country bringing a new style of act and horsemanship to the pro rodeo industry and are very excited of what the future holds
