FAQs:

  • Who can participate? Any girl or boy ages 4 to 18 may participate in the open rodeo.  Vegas Tuffest Qualifier is open up to 19.  Please visit the Vegas Tuffest Qualifier page for more information on ages.
  • Do they need experience?  No, they do not.  
  • Why do I have to pick an entry day?  The full rodeo will be ran on both Saturday and Sunday the contestant will go only one time.  We split the contestants in half and certain contestants like certain events one day and the rest of the events the following day.  We allow you to make a request of your day but it is not guaranteed.  The final decisions are made the week of rodeo.
  • Are there horses there for me to use?  No, you must provide your own horse or make your own arrangements.
  • Do you have equipment for me to use?  No, you must provide your own equipment or make your own arrangements.
  • What happens with the awards if no has a qualified win on an event?  The awards will roll over to the next year.
  • Is camping available?  Yes dry camping is available.  No fire area allowed on the grounds.
  • When will day sheets come out? Day Sheets will be posted to the Facebook page and emailed out as soon as they are available. You will have 48 hours after it was posted to report any problems.
  • Can I bring my dog? All dogs must be tied or on a leash and not allowed in spectator area.

Ground Rules

  • CTJRA Rules will be followed, unless otherwise noted at the rodeo office.
  • Entry is not official until jot form is filled out and payment has been received and cleared.
  • A $20.00 late fee will be assessed on entries dated 08-4-2025 or later.
  • A $20.00 NSF fee will be added to any NSF checks.  This must be paid and entries fees before a contestant can be accepted.  
  • Only cash will be accepted on site.
  • Scores announced by the announcer or on display is unofficial.
  • A barrier will not be used.
  • All cattle are chute ran.
  • Helmets required in rough stock events including mutton busting.
  • All participants must furnish their own equipment.
  • Complaints must be registered before the next event begins with the Arena Director or SWRC Junior Rodeo Committee.  You must not approach judges over complaints.  Once received, information will be provided to the judges to decide and clarify.
  • Event scores will be posted at the secretary shack as soon as possible after the event.
  • Must be entered in two or more events to be eligible for All-Around awards
  • All around saddle certificates will be award to the girl and boy with the most points in each age division.
  • All Around award points:  11 points for 1st place, 9 points to 2nd place, 7 points to 3rd place, 5 points to 4th place and 3 points to 5th place. All attempts made will get 1 point.
  • In the event of a tie for the all around saddle certificates the tie will be broken with the most events entered and then 2nd with a coin toss.
